Henriques developed a passion for metal-smithing after leaving a career in healthcare management and finance. She has a special interest in precious metal clay and enameling. Her inspiration comes from the wonderful textures in the world around us. She loves color, and obtains some of her color-blending ideas from nature’s palette. She has two cats who help to brighten her sad days and who represent the main theme in some of her pieces. Henriques lives with chronic back pain from two herniated disks and a torn disk in her lumbar region. This chronic condition is accompanied with sciatica, at times. Sometimes the pain is so intense that she is unable to stand or move freely. As such, her mobility is severely limited many times throughout the year. Henriques is a member of the Pennsylvania Guild of Craftsmen, the Pennsylvania Society of Goldsmiths, the Enamelist Society, and the Greater Philadelphia PMC Guild.
