Bobby Edmon

Edmon is a painter whose favored medium is acrylic paint on canvas. His subjects are landscapes, buildings and animals. Art has given Edmon a sense of accomplishment and has boosted his self-esteem since having a stroke in 2003. The stroke prevented Edmon-who was once in a band called The Bluegrass Four and could play the banjo, guitar, oboe, and piano-from playing instruments. His balance and speech were also affected by the stroke, but he was still able to draw and paint. Edmon’s disability allows him to have more time to paint, as he is no longer able to work. He can spend hours at a time drawing and painting, and he experiences much joy and serenity in doing so.
