How to Submit Artwork for Consideration in Art Ability
A stringent jurying process ensures that Art Ability presents highly professional artwork, demonstrating the strength of artistic talent within the disabled community. Eligible artists with physical, cognitive, visual or hearing disabilities are asked to apply online or contact Art Ability for assistance.
The 2017 call for entries is open April 19, 2017 to July 19, 2017. Artists will be alerted in August on the status of their submission.
Each artist should submit work through the call for entry website, CaFE™, at www.callforentry.org. Interested artists are required to create a free CaFE™ profile to apply. There is no entry fee for the Art Ability call, and artist profiles are able to be created and saved for future use. Applicants are invited to submit up to six (6) separate works of art for consideration, uploading one (1) JPEG (.jpg) image of each to the CaFE™ site. If necessary, a detail may be uploaded as one of the six. Images must be uploaded to the artist’s profile prior to completing a call for entry. New this year - consider submitting one (1) of your six (6) works of art that reflect our theme for the year. The 2017 theme will be "Transformation". To be included for consideration in the theme category, please title your work "Transformation followed by your full name", for example "Transformation by John Smith".
Applications also require title of work, medium, size, year completed, and price. When stating the size and selling price, this should reflect the framed artwork. All 2-D works must be framed including wrap around canvas and photographs on metal and foam. Works on paper, works on cavas or board, photography, mixed media, sculpture, jewelry and fine crafts will be accepted.
The submission process could take up to two hours to prepare images and submit the application depending on a variety of factors, so applicants are strongly urged to allow enough time to compensate for any unforeseen technical difficulties. Applications can be saved and updated at any time prior to the submission deadline of July 19, 2017.
Art Centers and Groups: A separate profile is required for each submitting artist. Each artist’s submissions should reflect his/her individual creativity. Multiple renditions of the same subject matter, such as a class assignment, will not be accepted.
